Dutch retailer achieves year-on-year online sales growth on e-commerce platform

Dutch retailer achieves year-on-year online sales growth on e-commerce platform

Bol.com, a leading online retailer in the Netherlands, is extending its partnership with cross-channel commerce solutions provider Art Technology Group (ATG).

This renewal follows a steady record of online sales growth in books, entertainment, consumer electronics and toys, according to the provider. It will enable bol.com to easily add new functional capabilities and serve a rapidly growing customer base. In addition, bol.com will continue to expand online sales in both existing and additional categories.

Ongoing benefits extend commitment

“We selected ATG as our commerce platform in 2007, to support our growth and improve the performance of our extremely busy e-commerce site. Our online revenue increased by 30% in one year after implementing ATG, and by 20% the year after. In order to sustain this growth, level of service to customers and long-term competitive advantage, we are now expanding our partnership with ATG,” commented Feike Groen, software development manager at bol.com. “ATG provides a growth-enabling platform that is delivering not only top line sales for us, but also increased customer satisfaction.”

Frank Lord, regional vice president at ATG, said: “Bol.com is an excellent example of retailers investing in one platform that enables rapid deployment of new e-commerce capabilities in a true cross-channel commerce platform, allowing consumers to browse and shop seamlessly across channels. Enabling retailers to easily enhance the shopping experience will increase their customer sales, satisfaction, shopping frequency and average order values. bol.com’s results are proof of this theory and we are delighted to be part of their success.”
