The new 2,000-seat Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin, owned by Live Nation, is implementing new, integrated hospitality point-of-sale (PoS), inventory and procurement systems.   The new InfoGenesis POS and Eatec systems are being supplied by Agilysys Europe, a specialist hospitality software provider.

Grand Canal Theatre Dublin joins a growing list of stadia, arena, theatre, hotels and restaurants in Ireland choosing Agilysys solutions, including Croke Park Stadium, Michelin-starred Deanes Restaurants and the five-star Kilronan Castle Hotel & Spa.

The business will use the new systems to streamline operations, adopt new revenue stream initiatives and reduce costs. And the vendor said the adaptability and scalability of the Agilysys suite means the theatre can add new capabilities as business needs dictate, including mobile point-of-sale (mPoS) by Agilysys and self-service kiosks.

The Theatre, which is set to open in March 2010, is part of Dublin's Grand Canal Square dockland development that launched in 2007. World-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind has designed the new, diamond-shaped, West End-style, 2,000-seat Theatre as the centrepiece of the scheme, which includes luxury office suites and restaurants.
