New electronic data interchange (EDI) service puts drinks company in closer touch with key retail customer

New electronic data interchange (EDI) service puts drinks company in closer touch with key retail customer

G&J Greenall, a distiller and bottler of premium quality gin and vodka, has moved to Wesupply’s One-Time EDI platform for a managed electronic trading service that allows the real-time exchange of critical business documents with its customer community.

G&J Greenall had a local PC-based EDI facility, supported remotely by third-party consultants and value-added network providers. However, the company wanted to improve its customer-facing integration capabilities and opted for a hosted, managed service solution from Wesupply that offered enhanced support, increased transactional visibility and real-time automated alerts for problem resolution.

Linking to multiple customers

“By moving to a fully hosted One-Time hub on the Wesupply network, we will have full connectivity with our key client base – companies such as Tesco, Morrisons, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, The Co-operative, and Bookers," said Pete Revill, information systems manager at G&J Greenall. “With a common view of the full purchase order to invoice cycle we will have a far clearer view of demand which will help us enhance our performance with our customers.”

“Along with all the operational benefits, G&J Greenall wanted to be able to better manage and forecast their EDI related costs, so they viewed the ‘fixed-price’ approach offered by Wesupply as very favourable. We were able to offer a fixed price for the three year term of the contract and additionally, we fixed our fees for connecting new clients to their hub, giving G&J Greenall the flexibility they needed for an expanding customer base,” added Andy Watts, Wesupply sales manager.
