Sunday, 26 December was reportedly the busiest day for mobile activity, when shoppers turned to their smartphones to check store locations, compare prices and complete purchases to take advantage of Boxing Day sales. According to Usablenet, the top five devices used to access these mobile websites were iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Nokia and iPod.
“Given that Christmas weekend marks one of the most active shopping periods in the UK, retailers’ increasing adoption of fully optimised mobile websites provides greater on-the-go convenience to consumers, enhances the in-store shopping experience, and maximizes purchase opportunities,” said Usablenet president, Nick Taylor. “Consumers can shop, wherever they are.”
