Voucher popularity tracks retail success

Commenting on the statistics, Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, said: “With a fresh year starting, we wanted to take a detailed look back at 2010, to see what the most popular products and retailers on the site were. Purely by looking at the most popular discounts used, and which retailers’ discounts were used the most, we were able to compile the above lists of top ten.”

He continued: “It wasn’t surprising to see that the most popular products and most popular retailers matched quite similarly in terms of retail sectors. 2010 saw the launch of several new and exciting technology products, including the iPad and Xbox Kinect, and our site results reflected their popularity amongst consumers. It was good to see that our discounts proved popular across most retail sectors throughout the year, as using online discounts on new purchases is a great way to save money. With the increase in VAT as well, I am sure all shoppers will want to find more ways to save their pennies.”
