In a move towards improving sales of National Book Tokens electronic gift cards to customers through their network of independent book shops across the UK, Book Tokens have selected the Star Micronics TSP100 FuturePRNT from DED for printing all transactional receipts.

In-store till application relies on printers

Book Tokens are now selling National Book Tokens via a web application in store, and the TSP100 holds an important supporting role alongside this new electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) feature, by fulfilling a variety of receipt printing requirements.

The TSP100 is being used to print not only the gift card initial sales receipt for the book tokens/gift cards purchased, but also for subsequent receipts for purchases made on the gift card when the customer returns to the book store for further purchases and to display the value remaining on the card if required.

Alex De Berry, commercial manager at Book Tokens commented: “We selected the TSP100 due to its low cost and ability to fulfil our application needs successfully. Any initial integration issues were expertly dealt with by the technical team at DED.”
