New payment processing solution brings UK retailer franchise together online
Cash Generator, a buy, sell and loan discount retailer, is reaping rewards of bringing its online payment processing under one roof.
As well as consolidating its payments processing capabilities, the retailer has also increased the selling power of franchisees, following the implementation of Payment Pages, a payment processing solution from SecureTrading.
Dan McGrath, Cash Generator financial controller, said: “When we took the decision to launch our new website we wanted to give our franchise network the ability to sell their products over the internet to customers. This has a key role to play in the future growth of our business. In 2011 internet sales will account for more than 20 per cent of our total turnover, while our site sees around 6,000 daily visitors and the average order value for each customer is around £75.”
The retailer’s implementation process was seamless due to SecureTrading integrating with its Microsoft Commerce Trading platform, the bespoke electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) solution and merchant accounts across the franchise network.
Managing major strategic shift
McGrath added: “This was a complex shift for the business due to the complex retail model. However, it was ably assisted by the chosen supporting technology and the team who worked on the project.”
With more than 130 stores throughout the UK and plans to open 50 new stores this year, the addition of Cash Generator’s retail website the company provides customers access to thousands of bargains that include brand new and pre-owned branded products.
This payment model will help the company as it looks to open 50 new stores in 2011, while it also plans to introduce PayPal as a payment option.
Tim Allitt, SecureTrading head of sales and marketing, commented: “We’re delighted to have been able to support Cash Generator as they look to enhance the power of the franchise owners within the business. Businesses that operate within this model can compete with far larger organisations with the adoption of the Xpay model, allowing businesses to integrate a payment solution into back-office or legacy systems.”
