The Strand Palace Hotel in London selects point-of-sale solution to enhance efficiency and guest service

The Strand Palace Hotel in London has selected the InfoGenesis point-of-sale (PoS) system by Agilysys to streamline operations across the hotel, including restaurants, bars and conference facilities.

The hotel in the heart of London upgraded its technology, including its PoS system, as part of a recent property-wide refurbishment programme, turned to Agilysys Europe having used the vendor’s Visual One property management system for several years.

Ben Chapman, IT and telecoms manager for The Strand Palace Hotel, said: "A comprehensive PoS solution is integral to success, and the InfoGenesis PoS system has all the features and functionality we require, including detailed transaction tracking and reporting and guest loyalty capabilities.

Looking to the future

“Moving to the InfoGenesis PoS system also opens up future options for integrated chip and PIN, mobile PoS, handhelds and iPads, and integrated dining management and reservations. We spoke to staff in a number of hotels across the UK, and they were unanimous in their praise for the system and for the service they receive from Agilysys. We are confident the solution will help us increase the profitability of our food and beverage operations and enhance guest service across the hotel."

"Hotels that want an edge on the competition need technology that enables them to operate at peak efficiency, especially in highly competitive markets like London," said Tina Stehle, senior vice president and general manager of Agilysys Hospitality Solutions Group. "The InfoGenesis PoS system, which has a successful track record at many of the world’s leading properties, will enable The Strand Palace Hotel to boost productivity, capitalise on revenue opportunities and improve its food and beverage operations."
