Rampant Sporting has chosen PrimaNet to support its multichannel expansion as it opens its first UK store
The opening of the first Rampant Sporting retail store is underpinned by the implementation of PrimaNet, with the latest touchscreen till systems and integrated back office system for order management, stock control, purchasing and sales order processing.
As a small but growing multichannel business, it was important for Rampant Sporting to have back office systems in place to help maximise sales margins, manage customer orders and allocate stock effectively without the typical administrative overhead.
Effective control of business
PrimaNet from Prima Solutions provides Rampant Sporting with more effective control of business processes, optimisation of resources and delivery of high quality management information. The integrated retail system means the retailer can have full stock visibility, automated order input and stock replenishment, as well as real-time information access, to improve stock planning across all sales channels including online sales.
“This represents yet another key milestone in our growth plans and we are delighted to have found a software partner that genuinely understands our sector and has a proven track record to help us achieve our ambitious plans,” said Richard Hurtley, founder and managing director of Rampant Sporting.
Homegrown UK brand growth
Rampant Sporting launched in 2007, with founder Hurtley initially selling luxury rugby socks to fellow students at Exeter University. Since then the business has grown steadily through its online sales and attendance at numerous lifestyle shows and events.
Supported by investment from lifestyle retailer Joules in 2010, the Rampant Sporting product range has expanded and the company has 16 UK stockists, including independents and department stores, such as Bentalls, with plans to add up to 40 new stockists this year. The first standalone store was opened in April 2011 in Exeter and a further store is due to open later this year.
