Sonae commits to roll out of branded card scheme across thousands of stores in Spain and Portugal
Portuguese retail giant Sonae has partnered with PrePay Solutions to launch a gift card across its many stores in Portugal and Spain.
The closed-loop gift card can be used in a thousand outlets in both countries and can be redeemed against 11 brands, including food.
The card is aimed at both the consumer and business markets, and is supported by extensive launch activity to promote the new product to the two sectors.
Building on popular success
José Fortunato, managing director at Sonae, said: “[The] Sonae gift card programme has experienced an impressive growth of over 25% year-on-year since 2006. It now represents a €20-million [£17.4m] activity, managed by a dedicated team.”
