Branded fashion retailer is working on its first social media commerce with BT Fresca
Lyle and Scott has confirmed that it is working on its first social media commerce store that will enable users to process transactions through Facebook.
The application has been developed by partner BT Fresca and follows fashion clothing brand Lyle and Scott’s recently re-launched mobile optimised website.
Lyle & Scott selected BT Fresca to redesign, build and host the Facebook application as well as its existing mobile and e-commerce web sites. The new design has a bold, striking look and feel, perfectly reflecting the brand and its commitment to an integrated approach to social media.
Keeping up with customers
Will Dymott, head of e-commerce for Lyle & Scott, commented: “We want to enable our customers to shop with us no matter where they are or what they are doing, our mobile site was the first step, now we are launching our Facebook store so that customers can ship with us without leaving Facebook. BT is a perfect fit for what we want to achieve and has supported us in the development and execution of a social media strategy that is set to increase sales and enhance the buying experience.”
Laura Summers, BT Fresca’s online marketing manager, commented: “Transactional social media platforms represent a huge opportunity for retailers – both in terms of revenue and brand building. Today’s consumers spend more time on Facebook than a retail website, so it is important for retailers to have a consistent brand image across all channels. We are really excited to be working with Lyle and Scott as it looks to integrate its web, mobile and now social media presence.”
