192business adds to global identity verification offering following North American expansion and Equifax Canada partnership

192business adds to global identity verification offering following North American expansion and Equifax Canada partnership

Identity verification provider, 192business has announced a further expansion to its global identity verification offering with the inclusion of Canadian credit reference data.

The announcement follows on from 192business’s recent acquisition of North American and European credit reference data, which it plans to use replicates the success of its UK credit reference data services.

According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Canada has an increasingly internet savvy population, as 84% of them regularly access the internet. With Canadian online spend expected to double over the next few years, the challenge for businesses is to accept more custom but also stop any fraudsters attempting to use Canadian identities.

192business said it sought the best available data in the marketplace, deciding to partner with Equifax Canada for the provision of Canadian credit reference data. With over 150 million credit records from 637 data contributors, 192business said that – in partnership with Equifax Canada – it could now provide universal coverage for over 22 million adults.

Carol Gray, Equifax Canada president stated: “We choose 192business as our exclusive partner due to their position as a global market leader and their fully comprehensive identity verification solution. They have aggregated a variety of high quality databases to provide global brands with confidence when verifying customer identities.”

Grant Greenwood, 192business commercial product director welcomed the inclusion of data from Equifax Canada in the company’s suite of identity verification tools. “We are licensed as Equifax’s sole partner to use their Canadian data, which is great news for our clients,” he said. “Whether our clients are trying to reduce fraud or carry our Know Your Customer checks for compliance, 192business are now able to provide them with a fully comprehensive solution for the Canadian market.”
