Carmaker partners with e-commerce expert to drive merchandise and accessories sales online
The Official Nissan Merchandise and Accessories shop launched on eBay UK today.
Following the success of BMW Direct, Nissan is the second automotive manufacturer to have entrusted the management of its brand on the UK’s largest marketplace to European online marketplace management services provider Pentagon Interactive.
Fastest route to market
Omobola Dada, Nissan Motor (GB) aftersales product manager, said: “When we decided to sell on eBay we were conscious that the skill sets required to make it successful would have meant building a team within our business.
“Pentagon offered a much faster route to market, an attractive commercial model and, most importantly, an understanding of our brand and how to protect it in such a dynamic, consumer driven environment.”
Extending supplier partnership
The store will be managed using inventory management software from existing Pentagon partner eSellerpro.
Andrew Norman, director of global partnerships and alliances at eSellerpro, commented: “Several of our largest and biggest known sellers in this space have opted to outsource the management of their store to Pentagon with tremendous success.”
