Luxury lingerie leader cuts reporting time by 10% and boosts visibility with new accounting software

Luxury lingerie retailer and manufacturer Rigby & Peller recently deployed new accounting, business and payroll software.

The London-based firm will use Opera 3 from Pegasus Software to support business transformation following its acquisition by Belgian public quoted company Van de Velde in 2011, by driving greater automation and accuracy in its finance department and its provision of superior management information.

Meeting parent company requirements

Following the acquisition, Rigby & Peller needed to adjust to its accounting requirements in line with the demands of being part of a publicly quoted company and, as such, needed a new accounting software to deliver more rigorous, accurate and granular reporting capabilities.

Having reviewed the market, the provider said the lingerie company selected Opera 3 based on its ability to download reports directly into Excel. This feature alone is reportedly already saving at least two days each month. Another key driver was the flexibility of Opera 3, which enables Rigby & Peller to customise the system to its exact needs, including synchronisation with its stock management software.

“Accurate, timely reporting, and the ability to source better management information, were the main drivers for our investment in new accounting software, and Opera 3 has delivered on both counts,” comments Amna Ijaz, Rigby & Peller financial controller.

Working with Pegasus partner Quorum Business Systems, Rigby & Peller went live with Opera 3 at the end of the third quarter of last year.
