Planning for Retail software module will help AURUM Holdings overcome visibility and optimisation challenges

Planning for Retail software module will help AURUM Holdings overcome visibility and optimisation challenges

AURUM has selected SAP Planning for Retail from CIBER and merchandise planning implementation specialist partner Trilam to streamline merchandising and business processes and save costs across the business.

The vendors stated that change in market conditions and a need to offer a multichannel shopping experience led the largest luxury jewellers in the UK, which owns retail brands including Watches of Switzerland, Mappin & Webb and Goldsmiths within its portfolio, to evaluate its business processes and look at areas for improvement.

As an existing SAP for Retail customer, supported by CIBER for several years, the company went back to the SAP partner to determine what technology the organisation could invest in to drive the business forward.

Targeting multichannel merchandising

AURUM consequently chose to invest in SAP Planning for Retail to help the business to overcome the challenges it faced around visibility and planning. It will be used to enable AURUM to structure its merchandise planning processes based on local customer preferences and create inventory transparency throughout the group.

The retail group will use the planning module to deliver data from a single, central source and integrate with store, catalogue and web inventories, making it easier for planners to set and execute strategic objectives that dictate the direction of multichannel merchandising. The solution will integrate with AURUM's current SAP landscape and implementation was due to commence at the end of this month.

Steve Sargent, AURUM chief financial officer, stated: "The SAP solution we have invested in is fully integrated and has powerful customer centric planning and simulation functions. It will allow us to have the right mix of products at each individual store depending on sales patterns.

"We also expect to see savings across stock reduction and costs savings in logistics through better planning. Our finance, merchandising and store operations will also be streamlined and more efficient."
