Men's clothing retailer becomes early adopter of new Microsoft and OpSuite-based retail management system
Clements and Church has become an early adopter of a new retail management suite based on a Microsoft third-party developer’s technology.
The award-winning British tailoring firm had been running its four stores in Birmingham, Solihull, Oxford and Leamington Spa on a non-UK based electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) system since its establishment in 2007.
Platform software within reach
But, having been initially drawn to the functionality of Microsoft Dynamics AX and the look and feel of Microsoft PoS 2009, Clements and Church management soon found that budgetary restraints were going to prevent them from taking on these products.
The company’s management them turned to OpSuite retail operations headquarters software from multichannel retail management software provider, Davidson Richards.
Mark Nash, director of Clements and Church, commented: “When Davidson Richards suggested that we become an early adopter of OpSuite HQ (combined with Microsoft Retail Management Suite (RMS) and its RMSynergy module), we could instantly see the huge potential. RMS integrated with OpSuite gave us the reassurance of an on-premise point of sale with the advantages of a cloud-based HQ and all connected in real time.”
Technology benefits in the cloud
Nash said the combined products offered the ideal solution for the business, “a core Microsoft product coupled with all the benefits of being in the cloud with OpSuite HQ and the ability to spread the cost of the solution with a cloud-based monthly subscription plan”.
He added: “We are happy being an early adopter of OpSuite, as this has enabled us to mould and enhance the solution to meet our specific requirements. OpSuite suits our business perfectly, allowing us to give our stores the independence and information they need while enabling us to track and monitor the company as a whole, from anywhere at any time.
“RMS and RMSynergy have been reassuringly problem free enabling us to get on with the business of tailoring knowing we are getting all the benefits of EPoS; not wasting time managing a redundant system.”
