Luxury shoe retailer to launch its first transactional site using pioneering e-commerce platform

Luxury shoe retailer to launch its first transactional site using pioneering e-commerce platform

Luxury shoe retailer Russell & Bromley has selected on-demand convergent commerce provider Venda to power its first e-commerce site.

Responding to customer demands

The British shoe brand, with its New Bond Street flagship and 45 shops nationwide, the investment marks its first step into the world of e-commerce. In order to address the new buying behaviour of its customers, Russell & Bromley engaged Venda to build its e-commerce website, which replaces the company’s previous non-transactional website.

Russell & Bromley chose the Venda e-commerce platform and its cloud on-demand model based on the provider’s existing work with clients including Laura Ashley, Anthropologie and Wonderbra.

The company also recognised that the cloud-based systems offered the stability and flexibility needed for a site that is predicted to generate high volumes of traffic and transactions, with no impact on impeccable customer experience or the integrity of the brand.

Building up best-selling store

The decision to make the change to a transactional site was based on meeting the demands of its customers, who were increasingly visiting the information-only site and asking where they could shop online. Brendan Regan, head of marketing at Russell & Bromley, explained: “Our goal is for the online part of the business to become our best-selling store. The Venda platform will help us to achieve this as it offers a pioneering e-commerce solution that has the flexibility and ability to grow and scale quickly.”

He continued: “E-commerce gives us a valuable opportunity to develop our customer contact. The data-gathering opportunity that the Venda platform presents means that we’ll be able to tailor our products and retail experience to drive sales.”
