The UK and Ireland SAP User Group, an independent voice that represents the SAP user community, is holding its annual conference at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, between 20 and 22 November 2011.

The conference and exhibition brings together hundreds of SAP professionals and business users from across the UK & Ireland to share their experiences and best practice every year.

This year’s conference begins on Sunday, 20 November with a full programme of product roadmap sessions and, new for 2011, a series of 'Demo Jams' where users can see the latest solutions developed by SAP partners. This will be followed by a networking reception, with opportunities to meet fellow users and SAP’s experts.

SAP will be fully supporting the event, with the company’s chief information officer Oliver Bussman being one of this year’s keynote speakers. Oliver will be describing how SAP has itself embraced its own technology and is continuing to adapt and innovate as IT becomes increasingly consumerised. 20-year BusinessObjects veteran and business Intelligence (BI) expert Timo Elliott will also be a keynote speaker, explaining why many BI projects fail and what users can do to get better value from them. This will form the start of a full BusinessObjects stream, looking at how users can maximise the potential of the product. Ray Wang of Constellation Research will be returning to provide his third conference keynote address, offering his thoughts on SAP and its current product roadmap, while Olympic medal winner Steve Cram MBE will also be speaking during the event.

Comprehensive workshop schedule

The 2011 user conference will feature the most comprehensive programme of any SAP event this year in the UK and Ireland. It comprises over 70 exhibitors and over 80 workshop sessions covering topics such as finance, payroll, HR and emerging technologies, all aimed at helping users best utilise their SAP investments. In these sessions, users will be presenting and sharing their experiences in how they have made the most out of the technology in order that all users can learn from one another. SAP staff will also be on hand to provide users with the latest news and product roadmap information throughout the conference. With the growth of mobility, the conference will also feature a new mobility stream highlighting the latest developments in mobility and how users can benefit from them.

“There have been many exciting developments in the world of SAP this year, from the growth of mobile technologies to SAP’s HANA in-memory computing product, not to mention the launch of SAP’s Customer Connection Programme. The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity for SAP users to learn from and network with each other and find new ways to maximise the value they get from SAP. All of these factors continue to make the user conference the best value and most educational event for SAP users to attend each year,” commented Alan Bowling, chairman UK & Ireland SAP User Group.

The conference is open to all SAP customers with discounted rates for member organisations.
