Thirty-One Gifts deploys merchandise planning

Integrated retail planning service to support rapid growth for US home shopping direct-selling organisation operating through independent sales consultants at home parties

Thirty-One Gifts has announced it has chosen TXT Maple Lake to assist in managing its retail processes. Using its integrated retail planning service, TXT will manage the whole spectrum of Thirty-One’s forecasting, merchandise, assortment and inventory management. 

As one of America’s largest direct-selling companies, Thirty-One Gifts offers a wide range of products, from purses and totes to home organisation solutions and more (pictured), most of which can be personalised. The company is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with more than 1,800 employees and more than 135,000 independent sales consultants in the US and Ontario, Canada. 

Scaling to accommodate business growth 

Having experienced rapid growth during its 10-year history, Thirty-One selected TXT and its integrated retail planning systems in order to apply accommodate further growth. The company expects to benefit from a more standardised planning process, reduced inventory costs, improved merchandising and assortment planning capabilities, and improved visibility and reporting across the business.

“With TXT’s help, we hope to be better equipped to analyse demand for all the products we offer, and to optimize inventory management in our four distribution centres,” said Mike Mausteller, director of planning and merchandise control at Thirty-One Gifts.  “We chose TXT Maple Lake because of its expertise in retail, the ease of use of the solution, as well as its combination of planning and analytics which supports fast, fact-based decision making.”
