Jewellery chain takes on cloud-based till system to take advantage of real-time sales view and the ability to introduce queue-busting MPoS in time for Christmas

F. Hinds, a family-run independent jeweller with 111 stores, has chosen to deploy new electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) systems from Cybertill across its retail store estate.

By installing the cloud-based EPoS system, F. Hinds will benefit from real-time stock visibility throughout the business, both online and across its 190 points of sale. “Cybertill is cloud based and consequently hugely appealing. It will help ensure our branches can view one another’s stock levels in real time so that stores can check and transfer stock minimising missed sales opportunities,” commented Paul Hinds, systems analyst at F. Hinds.

Flexible queue-busting capabilities

Another important factor for the retailer was the ability to deploy mobile points of sale (MPoS) at peak trading times. “Christmas is such a busy time for us and we wanted to be able to ensure that our customers don’t have to queue,” Hinds added. “To do this we knew we needed the ability to introduce mobile PoS into our stores as and when required. Cybertill’s cloud-based system allows us to do just this.”

Before making its investment, F. Hinds looked at a number of EPoS systems, from those that were jewellery specific to tier one systems before making its cloud-based choice. “The managed service aspect of Cybertill was also very appealing,” added Andrew Hinds, F. Hinds director. “As an organisation we don’t have to concern ourselves with data back-ups or software upgrades, we can focus on managing our business not our EPoS system.”
