UK jewellers selects independent software vendor to help fulfil growth ambitions by deploying new business management and merchandising systems
Beaverbrooks has selected new business management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to develop its multichannel jewellery business
The new Microsoft Dynamics NAV system from K3 Retail will be used to improve customer service across channels and support the retailer's roadmap for growth.
Updating business management systems
The new system will replace legacy financial and merchandise systems. This will allow the UK retail jewellery chain to modernise and integrate key existing systems.
These include its current in-house developed EPoS system (Retail Technology magazine September/October 2011 issue, p36) and its recently updated e-commerce platform.
The resulting management systems will provide a comprehensive set of functionality including, better visibility of stock and faster fulfilment of the website and its 65 stores.
Fulfilling multichannel ambitions
Patrick Walker, head of IT at Beaverbrooks, stated: “We were looking to replace our old legacy systems and needed a more up-to-date, modern solution that gave us a single view of our stock, better reporting functionality and assistance in becoming the multichannel retailer we strive to be.”
He added: “We chose K3 Retail due to their knowledge and expertise within the retail sector. They have a pedigree in retail technology and stood out from other providers. Their solution compliments our in-house system and is the best fit for us. Its early days, but we have been very impressed by what we have seen so far.”
