Phones 4u goes competitive with market intelligence

By Retail Technology | Wednesday July 23 2014

The mobile phone retailer is enhancing its competitive advantage with market analysis

UK mobile retailer Phones 4u is deploying market analytics and insight software to support its pricing strategy and capitalise on new revenue opportunities.

The retailer is using e-commerce B2B company ForNova’s Sparks market intelligence to enhance its competitiveness and save resources by gathering data on the online e-commerce market.

“We can access the latest comprehensive market outlook about all providers, devices and tariffs in the UK telecoms sector at the click of a button,” says Matt Child, director of trading at Phones 4u. “This helps us to manage our propositions more effectively and allows us to react quickly to changes in the market.

“Paired with our existing data collation and strategy, it has allowed us to take our level of industry insight to a new level, helping us to remain competitive and provide our customers with promotions on the latest handsets that remain compelling in a quickly changing market.”

Going omnichannel

In May this year, Phones 4u announced it was focused on delivering an omnichannel experience to its customers.

The retailer worked with specialist e-commerce technology suppliers, Portaltech Reply and hybris, to develop a new digital platform in support of a digital transformation strategy allowing customers to have one conversation with the brand.
