Vue renews IT support

By Retail Technology | Wednesday August 27 2014

UK cinema chain keeps up IT strategy to support growth

Vue Entertainment, one of the UK’s largest cinema chains, has renewed a contract with retail technology specialist Retail Assist for IT support across its 82-strong international cinema estate.

The five year renewal follows an existing three year relationship between both parties during which Vue saw significant growth in the UK and international markets through the acquisitions of the Apollo UK, CinemaxX and Multikino estates.

The business is now active across nine territories including UK, Germany, Ireland, Denmark, Poland, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania and Taiwan.

4k expansion support

As part of the deal, Retail Assist will be responsible for management of user support and technical service management in the Vue head office and across the cinema estate, including the delivery of IT help desk support services between 9am and 12am, 364 days a year, covering 1st line support and incident management.

Retail Assist also provided support during the installation of a number of 4k digital Sony projectors in 2012.

International growth

“Vue Entertainment’s growth over the last few years has in turn increased the scale of our IT infrastructure; however Retail Assist has continued to keep incident rates and call times down, which was a major factor for renewing the contract,” commented Roland Jones, Vue Entertainment’s technical services director.

Dan Smith, CEO, Managed Services at Retail Assist added: “Like their high street counterparts, leisure sector businesses like Vue Entertainment need a robust and responsive IT support service in place to ensure that for every market, time or location, the technology is always in place to help them meet their customer needs.”

Other Retail Assist clients include Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, WDF, Paperchase, Whistles, Oasis, Warehouse, Coast, Karen Millen, Odin Retail, Mint Velvet, REISS, VUE, Signet, Jacques Vert, Precis, Windsmoor, Planet and White Stuff.
