Joint e-commerce solution for merchants now available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
Global commerce and payments provider eBay is working with open-source e-commerce solutions vendor PrestaShop to make a joint technology proposition for eBay merchants available to markets outside France, Italy, Spain and the UK.
The companies have expanded the reach of their partnership to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, allowing merchants using PrestaShop’s e-commerce software to integrate their online store with the eBay marketplace to further accelerate their online sales.
PrestaShop has one of the world’s largest open source communities dedicated to e-commerce technology. Since 2007, PrestaShop’s open source software has been downloaded almost 4 million times. Today, more than 185,000 stores run on PrestaShop technology.
"We are very pleased that PrestaShop has now expanded its cooperation in Germany, Austria and Switzerland,” said Daniela Nalesso, head of partner business at eBay Germany. “Retailers now have the opportunity to open up one more distribution channel, thus reaching more buyers with a free integration of eBay in the PrestaShop platform.
“The success in other European countries has shown that more and more retailers are seeing multichannel trade as a possibility of expanding their business and providing their customers with a seamless and easy shopping experience."
The eBay module is available on the PrestaShop Market Place at no cost. For users of version 1.5 or 1.6, the eBay module comes pre-installed in the PrestaShop software. After activation, the eBay integration is fully supported in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, France, UK, Italy and Spain.
