Debenhams renews DHL deal

Department store Debenhams has renewed its partnership with DHL for a further five years
DHL supports the retailer’s omnichannel strategy by providing warehousing and distribution for an improved customer experience wherever, whenever and however consumers choose to make their purchase and take delivery of their goods.
It will also manage Debenhams’ stock to seamlessly support its online, click and collect and store replenishment requirements.
Fast replenishment to 166 stores nationwide means Debenhams will have the right stock delivered to the right store in line with real-time purchasing trends, rather than through forecasts.
The supply of stock will be managed from three omnichannel distribution centres and will result in leaner stock holdings; while more effective transport planning will increase efficiency and reduce empty mileage.
Michael George, director of logistics for Debenhams, said: “With its breadth of capability and experience in delivering strategic change, DHL is well positioned to support Debenhans’ ambitions in the years ahead”.
Dean Wyatt, VP of fashion and beauty at DHL supply chain, added: “Our renewed partnership with Debenhams builds on the successes achieved so far and focuses on activities that strengthen DHL’s omnichannel distribution capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the consumer.”
