Marks & Spencer has installed new fire alarm systems at a number of its new ‘Simply Food’ stores
Fire and security solutions provider Tecserv UK, has been appointed by Eco-1, a leading green electrical installation company to install the fire alarm systems.
The latest in fire alarm technology has been specified to meet Marks & Spencer’s very stringent fire and safety policies and procedures. Each new store will be installed with an analogue addressable fire alarm system utilising Apollo Discovery Protocol. Apollo was chosen because their smoke and heat sensors have a high immunity to false alarms but are able to quickly distinguish a real fire situation.
Tecserv UK project manager Lewis Russell said: “We are very conscious of the need to liaise with other contractors working on each new build to ensure that our installation timetable is kept in tune with other works being carried out. We ensured strict compliance with fire safety regulations and that our phase of the project is completed on time and within budget.”
Tecserv has been installing and maintaining fire and security systems within existing M&S retail and food stores for a number of years. The company is also currently involved an
ongoing project to update the fire alarm systems in existing stores to install the latest technology.
