rue21 launches virtual stylist

By Retail Technology | Thursday April 20 2017

Teen fashion retailer rue21 has launched a visual virtual stylist on Facebook Messenger

It offers customers a personalised, interactive and conversational shopping experience via Messenger.

Powered by mode.ai, the virtual stylist is one of the first to integrate Messenger’s new Chat Extensions feature, unveiled at the 2017 F8 Developer Conference, which allows users to interact with the virtual stylist in group and 1:1 message threads with friends.

“We’re thrilled to be one of the first retailers to use this new feature and we have a great partner in mode.ai,” said Brett Trent, chief marketing officer at rue21. “This virtual stylist will allow our customer to have an engaging, personalised experience with just a few clicks.”
The rue21 style bot will give users a visually rich shopping experience via Messenger. Features include image-based visual styling suggestions; colour, and price search filters; size personalisation; styling inspiration, and more.
