UK wine retailer Majestic Wine is to roll out new supply chain software
The company has chosen Relex Solutions to increase efficiency and improve product availability while supporting its goal of increasing customer loyalty through improved service.
Majestic operates 210 stores in the UK and two in France, and a separate commercial division
serving independent restaurants and pubs.
The company earlier selected Relex in April 2016 to help increase product availability in-store and online. It introduced advanced demand forecasting, allocation and replenishment processes, enabling Majestic’s supply chain team to concentrate on customer-focused activities.
Accuracy
During the successful pilot, Relex improved forecast accuracy and availability while reducing inventory levels. As a result, Majestic is now implementing Relex across all its categories in all its stores.
Neil Firth, supply chain director at Majestic said: “Relex completed a positive pilot, which delivered excellent results and proved the business case for us to upgrade our supply chain processes. Our product availability increased 11.7% in the six months ending 30
September 2016 and Relex played a key part in this improvement.
The software is expected to be fully rolled out by June 2017.
