Canvas camps across Europe with epayments

Camping specialist Canvas Holidays has expanded across Europe with new epayments software
The company selected Ingenico as the epayments provider most capable of providing localised payment options, tailored to varying payment cultures.
Canvas had already recognised through experience that customers who are not offered a familiar, secure checkout, in their own currency and language are likely to become frustrated and abandon the transaction. Canvas also wanted to offer customers more alternative channels and payment plans.
In the Netherlands, Canvas' customers are now able to use the country's most popular payment method, iDeal and bank transfers have declined sharply. This means that Canvas receives immediate payment, rather than having it deferred via the bank. In Germany and Belgium, Sofort and Mister Cash have also proved to be popular ways for Canvas' customers
to pay.
David Haig, head of IT, Canvas Holidays said: "Our confidence in Ingenico epayments’ localisation capacities means we have no problem moving into new international markets as and when we think that they're viable. Our sights are now set on customers across the whole of Northern Europe."
