MaplinÂ’s new technology drive

By Retail Technology | Thursday August 10 2017

Electronics retailer Maplin has added to its fleet to support rollout of its free Smart Home Survey service

It has added 10 Toyota C-HR petrol-electric hybrids to its vehicle fleet as it invests in its Smart Home offering, developing design, installation, set up and support services.

The Home Surveyors conduct free home surveys across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, visiting customers’ homes to help them understand what technology is available, before providing a bespoke assessment based on each customer’s needs and explaining the benefits of installing smart technology.

Examples of how these systems can make lives easier include; being able to keep an eye on your property through high quality CCTV and security systems, the ability to control lighting remotely to make vacant houses look occupied, allowing customers to remotely monitor elderly relatives living alone, as well as saving money through managing temperature and heating controls.

Alexander Allen, Director of Business Strategy at Maplin, said: “We chose the Toyota C-HR because it is an eco-friendly and stylish car which clearly resonates with our new vision. We share a lot of brand values with Toyota in terms of innovation, forward thinking and sustainability.”
