Walmart tech bypasses checkouts

By Retail Technology | Monday August 14 2017

Walmart shoppers in the US can bypass checkout lanes altogether with new technology being rolled out

The company’s new "Scan & Go" app enables users to scan and pay as the go along and then show a digital receipt on the way out the store.

Shoppers without smartphones can use a hand-held scanner instead while anyone preferring not to link up a credit card to their Scan & Go accounts can simply click "finish" on the app, then report to a self-checkout register to pay.
