Shop Direct improves security with AI

By Retail Technology | Friday February 23 2018

Digital retailer Shop Direct is reducing workload at its security operations centre and improving incident response with artificial intelligence (AI)

The company has selected Vectra’s Cognito threat detection and response platform to protect its ecommerce sites and enterprise operations while streamlining security operations.

Shop Direct brands include digital department stores Very.co.uk and Littlewoods.com, as well as luxury fashion retailer VeryExclusive.co.uk.

Cyber risks

“Every organisation at some point is subject to a breach, incident or cyber event,” said Liam Fu, head of information security at Shop Direct. “The ability to quickly and accurately detect and respond to threats is paramount, and Vectra is helping us reduce business risk.”

Shop Direct has to ensure the trust of four million active customers and navigating regulatory mandates, such as the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires the company to actively mitigate cyber risks.
