Silentnight beds in new POS

By Retail Technology | Thursday June 21 2018

UK bed maker Silentnight has implemented new point-of-sale (POS) technology to enhance its omnichannel experience

The company is utilising the ebizmarts POS solution and is offering an omnichannel exoerutcd to those customers visiting its new flagship showroom at Manchester’s Trafford Centre.

ebizmarts' iPad-based POS app integrates natively into Magento Commerce, enabling retailers to seamlessly synchronise their online catalogues in the physical environment.

This has been particularly beneficial for Silentnight as it diversifies its business model to focus attention on business to consumer sales - having traditionally been a manufacturer selling to retailers.

Customer service

In addition, the portable nature of the solution offered by ebizmarts means that Silentnight can boost its customer service in a showroom of over 5,000 sq. ft, containing an extensive in-store product suite of beds and mattresses.

Silentnight ecommerce manager Phil Turner, said: "When it comes to giving customers product information, taking orders, and taking payments, we can do everything from portable POS systems in store. This also means that customers can also buy in-store and online seamlessly - such are the advantages of omnichannel solutions of this kind.”
