RFID in fashion at Scalpers

By Retail Technology | Monday July 9 2018

Spanish fashion retailer Scalpers is rolling out RFID to its entire 150 store network

The company has chosen Nedap for the project which will provide its !D Cloud software platform and the RFID hardware to enable the complete traceability of Scalpers’ inventory and raise the retailer’s stock accuracy.

RFID roll-out to all stores will be completed in the next two months.

Alfonso Vivancos, CEO at Scalpers, said: “RFID is the first step in our digitalisation process and essentially it is the pillar for our future growth strategy. Scalpers is a fast growing fashion retailer and it is our ambition to become top of mind globally in menswear fashion but we realise that this can only be achieved if our operations have a solid foundation and the inventory data we work with is accurate.”

Stock accuracy

Nedap’s !D Cloud software suite is a Software-as-a-Service solution specifically developed for retail RFID applications.

It offers retailers the quickest route to implement RFID and improve their in-store stock accuracy to over 98% with real-time insights into stock levels and the exact location of each item.

As part of the initiative, Scalpers will also verify inbound and outbound shipments in their distribution centre using RFID tunnels, with a view to improve the product availability for replenishment and online orders.

In addition, Scalpers introduces RFID-based EAS readers to track if items leaving the store have been paid for. This enables a more seamless checkout as customers can now also pay via mobile checkout.
