Electronics retailer Dixons Carphone is rolling out interactive gaming zones across its Currys PC World stores in the UK
Completed this year, the immersive custom-built zones allow customers to experience the latest games, monitors and consoles through a 6.5m x 1.2m video gaming wall and comprises 2x6 matrix commercial grade display panels.
Within each store, the bespoke display can be split into separate feeds from 12 gaming PCs during live events and when featuring product videos, as well as two feeds for ‘versus matches’ between two gamers.
Its functionality is easily controlled by staff through a drag and drop system on a tablet device.
Bespoke digital
The gaming walls have been created and installed by UXG, which designs, manufactures and installs bespoke digital and retail solutions for branded environments.
Dixons Carphone’s head of technology Kash Ghedia said: “Our interactive zones, with the video gaming wall at their core, help deliver a truly immersive experience. They are generating excellent brand awareness, increasing dwell time and helping drive sales. UXG’s team has created an outstanding retail experience for us while being reliable and responsive to our requirements from initial design concepts through to aftercare.”
