Co-op Group has selected a new managed service solution to support their HR systems

The new Symatrix service will help and support the Co-op’s existing IT organisation in the optimisation of their cloud-based Oracle human capital management (HCM) solution.

This will enable them to maximise the business value that they aspire to achieve and deliver an enhanced HR service to more than 60,000 employees.

Partnering with Symatrix will allow Co-op to take advantage of the expanding capabilities and functionalities within the Oracle Cloud solution, which will help them drive efficiencies and adopt more functionality and automation. In turn this will drive down cost, while improving the overall employee experience and levels of engagement.

More specifically, it will enable Co-op to make changes to its HR systems on demand and have the Symatrix team augment its own in-house HCM delivery should the volume of support queries spike.

Best practice

This is proving especially beneficial in some specialist areas where Co-op has a shortage of in-house skills. The model also enables Co-op to ‘sense-check’ its ideas, thereby helping to ensure it adopts industry-leading best practice.

Gareth Abreu, dev-ops manager, HR & CSC, The Co-op Group, said: “We are delighted to be working with Symatrix as we consider their model a true Next Generation in Managed Services. We have already started work on optimisation work with them and the partnership has got off to a great start.”

The two companies have worked closely for several months to mould a service that precisely met Co-op’s specific requirements. Moving forwards, both parties are committed to continuous optimisation of the current solution and adopting new modules as they become available and are applicable.
