Walmart pilots air drone delivery

By Retail Technology | Tuesday September 15 2020 | UPDATED 23.02.23

Walmart has partnered with an end-to-end drone delivery company as it explores air drones

The pilot with partner Flytrex was launched in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and focused on delivering select grocery and household essential items from Walmart stores using automated drones.

Flytrex drones, which are controlled over the cloud using a smart and easy control dashboard, are helping Walmart gain insight into the customer and associate experience, from picking and packing to takeoff and delivery.

Despite the pilot project, Walmart reiterated that “it will be some time before we see millions of packages delivered via drone.”
