Carving up Christmas cheer

By Retail Technology | Tuesday December 22 2020 | UPDATED 19.12.20

Britain’s oldest family butcher RJ Balson and Son is partnering with WhatsApp Business to promote their free-range meats to customers in a COVID-secure, contact-free way, just in time for Christmas

Following a training programme delivered by WhatsApp, the butcher, which has been running for 505 years spanning 25 family generations, can now promote their turkeys, sausages and dry-cured bacon via the platform, and connect easily with their customers at this difficult time.

Key features of WhatsApp Business include being able to set up a ‘catalogue’ of products or services, which can be accessed via a new Shopping Button (located in placed of the video call icon), along with bespoke ‘Quick Replies’ and Out-of-Office responses to stay connected to customers at all times.
