The River Café cooks up delivery upgrade

By Retail Technology | Thursday February 17 2022 | UPDATED 17.02.22

Iconic London restaurant The River Café has expanded its delivery service with a new solution provider

Gophr will now deliver fresh and ambient food to customers across the capital including set meal boxes, alcohol and fresh ingredients.

Demand for home delivery from The River Café rose during lockdown when The River Café adapted by offering dishes from its menu for customers to enjoy at home.

As the UK emerges from lockdown, demand for this service has remained strong. Gophr anticipated delivery of 100+ orders over the peak Valentine's Day period as the River Café continues to build on its at home offer. Gophr forecasts an average daily service of 60 deliveries for the restaurant.

Imogen McKay, shop operations manager at The River Café, said: “Working with Gophr over the Christmas period was a great success. We found Gophr’s platform easy to use, its couriers friendly and the service levels a perfect match for our brand's fine dining ethos.”
