Self-checkout terminals growing in popularity

A new research report estimates that shipments of self-checkout terminals could surpass 300K by 2027

According to RBR’s Global EPOS and Self-Checkout 2022 report, the global market for self-checkout terminals grew 11% in 2021 while terminals that accept cash dropped from nearly 47% of total shipments in 2020 to about 39% of total shipments in 2021.

The number of cashless self-checkout terminals shipped grew from a little over half to 61% between 2020 and 2021.
