Targus tries on AR

By Retail Technology | Thursday September 15 2022 | UPDATED 13.09.22

Backpack and tech accessories brand Targus has launched a new augmented reality (AR) shopping experience

The new AR initiative allows Targus customers to virtually try on any style of backpack and was showcased at the IFA show.

By slipping a bag on their back a virtual full-body mirror lets customers scroll through the Targus collections via a giant touchscreen to select their perfect backpack and choose their favourite colour.

Dave Crew, commercial director EMEA at Targus, said: “It’s Targus’ mission to establish new supply chains, new manufacturing processes and selling channels to create a truly functioning circular economy. With our zero-waste backpack and digital shopping experience, we are one step closer to achieving that. We are here to say it is possible.”
