Cotton On goes green

By Retail Technology | Wednesday October 19 2022 | UPDATED 18.10.22

Australian retailer Cotton On has gone green for its gift cards with a new partnership

Cotton On is now using Thames Technology’s sustainable paperboard to provide a premium look and feel while being 100% biodegradable.

It is one of the first Australian retailers to move their entire gift card range to be made from sustainable paperboard, fully replacing traditional PVC card materials, and reducing its impact on the environment.

All paperboard used to produce the new gift cards will be responsibly manufactured by one of the world's most environmentally friendly papermills, which plants more trees in its forests than it fells. It is certified to ISO14001 environmental management standards and powered by bio energy so that no fossil fuels are used in the making of the premium paperboard.
