Lakeland enhances distribution
Cookware retailer Lakeland has implemented an expansive optimisation plan with its distribution partner
Lakeland has worked with XPO to enhance its efficiency and sustainability with a new hybrid distribution solution.
In the first six months of optimisation — from June to November 2022 — the results showed significant gains in key areas of focus. The two companies’ joint collaboration has delivered:
- 99.5% on-time performance with deliveries to stores
- 19% cost outperformance in the six-month period, year-over-year, relative to budget
- 1.4% average savings per trip from shared trailer model
- 104,000 kg reduction in CO2 emissions in the six-month period, year-over-year, from route optimisation
- Zero health and safety accidents across distribution operations
