Walmart expands ESLs

By Retail Technology | Tuesday June 11 2024 | UPDATED 23.06.24

Retail giant Walmart is expanding its use of electronic shelf-edge labels (ESLs) to 2,300 stores by 2026

Walmart's investment in electronic shelf-edge labels (ESLs) represents a significant shift in how its store associates manage pricing, inventory and order fulfilment operations and customer interactions.

The DSLs have been developed by Vusion Group and allow Walmart to update prices at the shelf using a mobile app.

This reduced the need for associates to walk around the store, changing paper tags by hand and giving them more time to support customers.
