Walmart unveils AI assistant

By Retail Technology | Monday June 16 2025 | UPDATED 16.06.25

Retail giant Walmart has launched its GenAI-powered shopping assistant Sparky

Customers can now experience Sparky across all categories via the smiling “Ask Sparky” button in the Walmart app.

Multi-modal Sparky helps customers search to find items, synthesise reviews, and offers insights to prepare for any occasion.

And over time, Sparky will develop to giving customers the power to customise their experience, from automatically reordering household essentials to booking services that simplify complex shopping tasks.
