Coat Paints adds AI feature

By Retail Technology | Thursday January 15 2026 | UPDATED 14.01.26

Paint brand Coat Paints has unveiled a new AI-powered colour visualiser

The new tool allows customers to upload a photo of their own space and instantly see Coat paint colours applied to their walls.

Available via coatpaints.com/ai, the feature uses advanced AI to accurately identify walls within a room and render Coat colours in a way that reflects the true lighting, shadows, and atmosphere of the space.

Trained on real paint colour data and designed to be light-aware, the visualiser shows how colours will genuinely behave throughout a room - helping customers understand how tone, depth, and warmth change depending on natural and artificial light.

“Choosing paint has always been harder than it needs to be,” said Rob Abrahams, CEO and Co-founder of Coat Paints. “Small tester pots don’t tell the full story, and older visualisation tools never felt truly real. This new AI visualiser shows colour exactly as it behaves in your space, under your light - cutting out days of effort and uncertainty.”
