Rapid Retail official INTERSHOP outletPop-up store systems supplies celebrates success after Hamburg and now set its sights on Madrid

Rapid Retail, the official supplier of retail units and programme kiosks for INTERSPORT Europe, is moving its football roadshow from the UEFA Europa League Final, held in Hamburg last Thursday, to this week’s UEFA’s Champions League Final in Madrid.

The six shop units and 17 programme kiosks, used by INTERSPORT at the Hamburg Arena for sales of the Europa League’s official merchandise and programmes, have been rebranded to reflect the Champions League logos and were transported across Europe from Germany to Spain this weekend. Before arriving at the 75,000 capacity Santiago Bernabeu stadium, home to Real Madrid and, where Bayern Munchen and Inter Milan will battle it out to be champions of this prestigious event, they will be seen by thousands of pre-event revellers at the Champions Festival in the Parque del Retiro, where a whole range of attractions and activities will be held in the run up to the main event on Saturday 22 May.

Events kick off ongoing relationship

Rapid Retail’s involvement in these two esteemed events, the pinnacle of UEFA’s football competitions, mark the start of a three-year deal, signed earlier this month with INTERSPORT, in which the company will provide the retail giant with multifunctional shop units for various European events. In addition to the supply of retail units, Rapid Retail will also support INTERSPORT with onsite sales and logistics at each event.

Nick Daffern, Rapid Retail managing director, said: “Our relationship with INTERSPORT is going from strength to strength and we are extremely proud to be working with one of the world’s leading retail brands.

As shown in Hamburg, our innovative shop units and programme kiosks enable INTERSPORT to maximise the space available around the stadium, thus offering fans in all locations the opportunity to purchase the official merchandise and programmes efficiently and quickly.”

He added: “It was a great disappointment for the fans that Fulham didn’t triumph, but at least we helped in making it a fantastic day out for them.”

Later in the year, in August, Rapid will be providing INTERSPORT with a similar range of shop units and programme kiosks for the UEFA Super Cup Final in Monaco, after which it will be planning ahead for next year’s events: the Champions League Final at Wembley, the Europa League Final in Dublin and the Super Cup Final in Monaco.
