Blackwell, the UK's leading academic bookseller, has implemented YESpay's Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant EMBOSS solution, to provide secure chip & PIN payments across its 160 electronic point-of-sale (EPoS) tills in 50 UK stores.
The EMBOSS service integrates with Itim’s EPoS technology, which securely supports all chip & PIN payments. YESpay delivered a quick turnaround and saved Blackwell over three months in bank accreditation and PCI approval time, as its EMBOSS Bureau Service is a pre-accredited solution, which has also enabled the retailer to significantly reduce the cost of becoming PCI compliant.
Victor Smith, Blackwell IT manager said: “The adoption of YESpay’s EMBOSS payment solution means that we don’t have the burden of complying with PCI standards ourselves. It has saved us time and money, as well as offering further business benefits. We now have the ability to view critical business information online through a portal on the YESpay website, which provides us with visibility on sales data.”
He continued: "The payment solution will also guarantee our customers with a fast, and secure method of payment, improving our customer service offering."
Rohit Patni, YESpay sales and marketing executive vice president said: “In outsourcing its payments, Blackwell has relinquished the responsibility, hassle and expense of taking on an in-house system. It has also considerably cut the costs of having to conduct any formal bank approval and complying with PCI requirements, which can take months to process."
