Oracle Retail and E-Business Suites and Oracle Fusion Middleware support business transformation to unlock value

Oracle Retail and E-Business Suites and Oracle Fusion Middleware support business transformation to unlock value

Swedish women’s fashion and home furnishings retailer, Indiska, has implemented a core Oracle retail platform based on Oracle Retail merchandising applications, the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 and Oracle Fusion Middleware in only nine months.

The go-live of the core Oracle and Retail platform in Indiska’s 90 stores across Sweden, Norway and Finland is helping the Bohemian-inspired brand to support its drive for more profitable and sustainable business growth as it continues to expand in Europe.

Rapid value realisation

Indiska chose to deploy the Oracle footprint in an accelerated implementation strategy, in order to deliver improvements to its business as quickly as possible, and worked closely with the provider to achieve this goal.

In February, Indiska went live with the Oracle E-Business Suite Financials Release 12. The new solution is designed to promote shared services across the business and within multiple countries. The standard integration between Oracle Financials and the Oracle Retail applications was a key benefit, reducing overall implementation timescales, according to the provider.

Implementation of the remaining Oracle footprint comprising the Oracle Retail applications and Oracle technology completed in March, nine months after the start of the project in May last year.

The selection of Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Price Management, Oracle Retail Trade Management, Oracle Retail Sales Audit, Oracle Retail Invoice Matching and Oracle Retail Allocation has replaced legacy merchandising systems with a single, scalable infrastructure supporting a common set of retail processes.

Single data platform efficiencies

In addition, Indiska has implemented Oracle Fusion Middleware components including the Oracle WebLogic Suite, Oracle WebCenter Suite and Oracle BPEL Process Manager to deliver further operational efficiencies through better management of the data exchanges between the Oracle merchandising environment and other legacy applications including its point-of-sale and warehouse management systems.

Indiska is also using Oracle Database 11g to further optimise performance and reliability.

“Oracle is helping Indiska to focus on improving our business performance, streamlining and maximising the value of information flowing in and out of our business,” said Sara Björk, Indiska IT director. “Investing in world-class, proven systems to support our long-term growth strategy is a vital part of our development and Oracle is helping us to accelerate our plans.”
