Clarks launches on Udozi

By Retail Technology | Friday August 23 2013

Shoppers can now search for items instore via their mobiles at shoe retailer, joining Evans Cycles, Maplin and Toys ‘R Us

Footwear retailer Clarks has become the latest retailer to sign up with the local mobile shopping platform Udozi.

Following a successful beta launch and the addition of Evans Cycles and Maplin announced last month, the platform now supports over 160 retailers, including Toys ‘R Us.

The platform’s mobile app or website enables shoppers to locate the nearest store of participating retailers, search for specific items and check stock levels. Once they have located what they want, they will be able to collect it instore on the same day.

Extending High Street opportunity

Udozi also provides information on stock availability, shop contact details, locations and opening times and allows shoppers to browse items before heading to a store, as well as the opportunity to discover new independent shops through its ‘what’s around me?’ feature.

Nick Darby, Clarks UK programme and change management manager, commented: “We place people at the heart of everything we do and people are increasingly using their favourite mobile services to interact with us.

"This partnership means that people can now use their phones and tablets to search for our stock on-the-go via their popular Udozi app or website, making finding us and the shopping experience even easier, more convenient and more enjoyable.”
